Sandra Ross
Artist
Over many years I have been documenting feelings of loss and grief using motifs of landscape and natural form as a metaphor to describe my experiences, while recording the internal struggle to heal.
In the process of making, I take myself to these experiences and create narratives that invite you into my world that is somewhat awkward, transcendental, imaginative, and mystical, – a world where recovery is possible.
With charcoal, pastel, watercolour, and gouache, I render layers in innovative and lyrical movements, echoing time, memory, and place.
